2. Hanuman once applied Sindoor all over his body for Lord Rama’s long life
When Hanuman once saw Sita Maiya applying Sindoor, he became curious and asked her about the purpose of doing the same. To which, Sita mata replied that it is done for the well being and longevity of Lord Rama’s life. Hanuman, like a child thought that if a pinch of Sindhoor can do such wonders then what will happen if it is applied to the entire body. Hence, Hanuman applied Sindhoor all over his body to pray for Lord Rama’s long life.
3. A mighty Fish conceived son of Hanuman – Makar Dhwaja
It is believed that after burning down Lanka with his tail, Hanuman took a dip into the ocean to cool off his body. And so, his sweat got mixed with the ocean water which was swallowed by a fish. The giant fish conceived Makar Dhwaja, which was later captured by Ravana’s brother Ahiravana, the ruler of Patal lok. When Makar Dhwaja grew up, Ahiravana was impressed by his strength and virility. He then made him his soldier.
During, the capture of Lord Rama and Lakshmana by Ahiravana, Hanuman had lost the fight to Makar Dhwaja during the rescue. Later, Hanuman killed Ahiravana and made his son Makar Dhwaja, the ruler of Patal lok and returned with Lord Rama and Lakshman unharmed.
4. Hanuman once rejected Sita Maa’s Gift
When Sita Maa gave him a beautiful pearl necklace as a gift for his devotion to her husband, He politely declined it saying that he doesn’t accept anything that is devoid of Lord Rama’s name. To prove his point, he even ripped off his chest showing the image of Lord Ram along with Sita Mata.
