3.Haldi/Turmeric– Don’t use in Lord Shiva Puja:
Turmeric is used to appease Gods and Goddess and in every puja Haldi/Turmeric is used for tilak and other purpose. Haldi also has some medical qualities.
A shivling has two parts, one is associated with Lord Shiva which represents masculinity while the jaladhari is associated with Goddess Parvati which represents femininity.Since cosmetic is considered as a product for females so it is not used on shivling but you can use on jaladhari.
4.Kumkum– Don’t use in Lord Shiva Puja:
Kumkum is considered to be sacred for the married women and women seek blessings of long life of their love.
But Lord Shiva is considered as destroyer so worshipping his symbol with KumKum is not considered auspicious.

5.Coconut water– Don’t use in Lord Shiva Puja :
Coconut is also considered as sacred and used in every Hindu Puja in Hinduism. We break the coconut on many auspicious occassion. One can offer coconuts to Lord Shiva, but must never worship Shivlinga with coconut water.
Everything offered on Shivlinga is considered as nirmalaya, thus forbidden from being consumed or put in any where except in rivers,lakes and sea. And, as consuming coconut water after being offered on deities is considered as mandatory to drink, it is thus not offered on Shivlinga.
