According to Hinduism, the number 108 exists everywhere around us in the universe and hence the solutions to any problems can be 100% benefitted if the task listed in the vedas is completed. It is said in the Vedas that: In one minute we breathe in 15 times, in one hour 900 times and hence in 12 hours 10800 times, i.e., in half a day a person can devote himself to his idol. The maximum number of times one can perform a “Mantra” or “jap” in a day is 108 times. The Vedas explicitly list that there are 108 beads in a mala, and to complete one jap, you need to complete one mala, hence to get 100% benefit out of these japs, you need to complete 108 malas.
